Crimson Education
Brasília - Brasilia, Federal District, Brazil
The Jovem Senador program encompasses two competitions: Projeto Jovem Senador and the Federal Senate essay competition. These events aim to provide high school students from public schools with knowledge about the structure and functions of the Legislative Branch in Brazil.
Each year, the organizing committee proposes an essay prompt that students respond to. Schools are invited to host an essay contest within their individual school and submit the best essay to the Secretary of Education which will then select three essays per state as well as the top three essays nationally. One essay per state will then be selected by the Senate. The authors of these 27 best essays will be invited to participate in a four-day program in Brasília where they will develop and seek to approve different legislative projects, simulating the work of real Senators.
