The National French Contest/ Le Grand Concours is an annual competition sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of French . Students  of French in grades 1-12, in all 50 states and abroad, take a written test and compete against students with similar educational background for prizes.   Grades 1-6 participate in the FLES Contest .  Grades 7-12 in the Secondary Contest.

Launched in the late 1960s, the ACTR Olympiada of Spoken Russian is the oldest of ACTR’s secondary school activities. Drawing on the long-established practice of oral exams and competitions within the Russian educational system, the Olympiada has provided successive generations of American high school and middle school students of Russian with a forum in which to demonstrate their achievement in Russian language study, while conversing with native speakers of Russian and meeting with students of Russian from schools other than their own.  State/Regional Olympiada competitions take place throughout the United States from February through May. National History Day ® (NHD) is a non-profit education organization based in College Park, Maryland. NHD offers year-long academic programs that engage over half a million middle- and high-school students around the world annually in conducting original research on historical topics of interest. Since 1974, NHD has continuously improved history education by providing professional development opportunities and curriculum materials for educators. The International Young Physicists’ Tournament (IYPT) , sometimes referred to as the “Physics World Cup”, is a scientific competition between teams of secondary school students. It mimics, as close as possible, the real-world scientific research and the process of presenting and defending the results obtained. Participants have almost a year to work on 17 open-ended inquiry problems. A good part of the problems involves easy-to-reproduce phenomena presenting unexpected behaviour. The aim of the solutions is not to calculate or reach “the correct answer” as there is no such notion here. Provide Bedouin women with everyday household knowledge, so that they can both support their own food needs as well as participate in crop exchanges with the community. This volunteer program is especially suitable for: Age 18+, Singles, Couples, 50+ Habiba Community is committed to transforming the lives of local Bedouin communities through promoting sustainable agriculture and permaculture. We do this by empowering the Bedouin we employ to experiment with organic farming, helping them to not only grow their own produce, but to conduct their own research into how best to make use of the resources around us.
