Université de Genève Summer Programme: Archiver
Crimson Education Switzerland
This is of course an effect of their digitization, more and more frequent and systematic: searchable outside the places of their conservation, everywhere, all the time,  the archives open to all kinds of reinvestment . It is necessary to evaluate the effects of this dematerialization, which is not simply a technological evolution but a real paradigm shift: the archives were rare, precious, protected by the power that produced and conserved them; today, they proliferate. It is rare that an Internet site, an exhibition, an administration, an exhibition does not have a tab, a service, an "archives" sector which allows to document its work but even more to build and to manifest its identity. The nature and uses of the archives have been transformed: not only can everything (or must ) be archived but all trace of the past, any document ends up being considered as archive - the singular archive then prevails over the archives ( Mal archive of Jacques Derrida). An equivalence of 6 ECTS...

Geneva Peace Week
Crimson Education Switzerland
Geneva Peace Week is a collective action initiative facilitated by the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies, and the Geneva Peacebuilding Platform in collaboration with the Swiss Confederation. By synchronizing meetings and events on different topics related to the promotion of peace during one week, Geneva Peace Week maximizes synergies between organizations in Geneva, focused on the cross-cutting nature of peace. Geneva Peace Week underlines that each and every person, actor and institution has a role to play in building peace and resolving conflict. It also highlights that peace promotion occurs in many different contexts and cuts across disciplines and sectors. In this sense, Geneva Peace Week is an attempt to break down the silos which all-too-often characterize the international community and can limit more creative responses.
