We’re a team of young students from around the globe on a mission to inspire the next generation by developing and launching Auahitūroa , our satellite, into orbit.   We envisage a world where anything is possible, where inequality is a distant memory and where humanity can thrive and advance as a multi-planetary, space fairing society. Auahitūroa is a 1.5U Cubesat designed to educate and inspire. Launched into orbit, Auahitūroa will downlink live video back to earth, along with data from three student-built MCU-based experiments, selected from an international competition launching in 2021. In addition, the satellite will provide students around the world with the ability to remotely run programs and collect data in real-time using an array of industry-leading sensors. Description Horizon Academic is a research program that guides high school students through the process of doing college-level research projects. Students have the option of being mentored by professors in small groups of 4 students or on a one-on-one basis with postdoctoral fellows or PhD candidates who are experts in the subject that a student wishes to research. Students meet with their mentor 20 times throughout the course of the program and complete a 20 page research paper. The program is offered 3 times per year during the fall, spring, or summer. The fall and spring terms last for 16 weeks, while the summer program lasts for 10 weeks. Students should apply with a particular set of research interests.
