Description Horizon Academic is a research program that guides high school students through the process of doing college-level research projects. Students have the option of being mentored by professors in small groups of 4 students or on a one-on-one basis with postdoctoral fellows or PhD candidates who are experts in the subject that a student wishes to research. Students meet with their mentor 20 times throughout the course of the program and complete a 20 page research paper. The program is offered 3 times per year during the fall, spring, or summer. The fall and spring terms last for 16 weeks, while the summer program lasts for 10 weeks. Students should apply with a particular set of research interests.
