The Schultheater der Länder is a nationwide festival for school theatre groups of all school levels and school types, which takes place annually in another federal state. The Schultheater der Länder is a common cause. Each federal state is therefore represented by a group that carries on the impulses of the festival. The camp offers drama classes in English lead by American teachers that prepare students for a final performance that is presented at EdTA’s prestigious junior festivals. EdTA China Young Thespian Festival is a drama festival series hosted every year by EdTA China. The Festival includes competitions based on themes, and non-competition units to enhance the learning experience of the students. Participants will have the opportunity to meet and compete against peers from all over China who are equally passionate about drama. They will also have the chance to take part in workshops, sessions and lectures taught by theatre experts and drama education professionals to learn about the holistic subject of drama and explore their passions. Winners in the Festival will be recommended by EdTA China to compete in Individual Events (scenes, monologues, musical solos, and small group performances) at the annual EdTA festival in the US every June. This peer-to-peer opportunity provides something a little different from the rest, appealing to students with a flair for creation, comedy, acting or producing. The selected student will have the invaluable opportunity to work under and shadow an established comedian through their daily life of writing for Lionsgate Entertainment, maintaining a social media status and collaborating on a variety of projects. Having studied at Harvard and ‘accidentally’ ending up as President for the Harvard Student Council, the chosen student will have an enjoyable time all the while learning about the field they love and cherish. Hours and duration are subject to discussions between the mentor and applicant. However, this will entail approximately 10 hours of work completing a value-add project at the mentor’s request.

The Cork Young Filmmakers (CYF) project is a series of one-day, two-day and week-long filmmaking workshops for youth groups and schools throughout County Cork. It is facilitated by Cork Film Centre, and funded by Cork County Council Arts Office and SECAD (South & East Cork Area Development). It has been run annually since 2006. First Cut! Youth Film Festival emerged from this workshop programme and continues to showcase films made as part of it. CYF organises sixteen one-day workshops and four two-day workshops in schools, youth groups and at festivals between July and November, and week-long workshops during the summer. In 2018, three week-long workshops will take place, one in Macroom, one in Midleton and one in Mallow. Contest designed to boost young learners' interest in classical literature, organised by the Community of Madrid, the Ministry of culture and sport, and the Madrid Association of Editors. Participants form groups of 3-6 students, and read select works of literature under the guidance of a teacher. They then use the material to record a video, and following the guidelines of the competition, submit it for consideration. In the video students read aloud a passage of the work they've selected, and relate it to contemporary work, ending with an argument for how they've drawn the connection between the classic and contemporary works. Restricted to adult participants, this can be an interesting opportunity to a high schooler who has already turned 18. It could be, however, that the competition's organisers are persuaded to exceptionally accept a submission from an underage illustrator among the works selected for the itinerant exhibition. Works are divided into two categories -- Microscopic and General -- and may bear on any theme such as cellular biology, food and nutrition, materials design, medicine or environment, ecology and agriculture. The sole requirement is that presented works bear some relation to science, which must be defended in an accompanying 500-to-1000-word introductory essay written by the photographer. The intention of the initiative is to educate students on common gender inequalities.
