Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) are student run organisations with the community. Typically these clubs are run across different high schools and middle schools.
GSA provides a safe space for students to meet, talk, support each other and discuss topics relating to gender identity, sexual orientation and expression. GSA clubs are also developing a greater social aim within the trans and queer group where state-to-state and national campaigns are raised on a range of issues that affect all students across America.
GSA communities take on one or more of three frameworks; Social, Support or Activist. Within these, students collaborate to achieve community goals. GSA only trains young people with a variety of leadership courses, allowing students to develop skills they can ultimately take forward into their adult working life.
