Spanish Chemistry Olympiad

  • Crimson Education
  • Spain
General Tutoring Competition

Description

A local chapter of the International Chemistry Olympiad, the first stage of the Spanish Chemistry Olympiad is usually held around end of year in each University District.

The best 3 participants within each district go on to the National championship, which is usually held around March, where they will face a multiple choice test and an exam made up of problems for which the use of a simple calculator is allowed.

In principle, the 4 best participants in this National phase are eligible to go on to the International Chemistry Olympiad, held around July, an the Iberian-American Chemistry Olympiad, held around September.

It must be noted that Spain's participation in these has been compromised recently by governmental budgetary allocation.
