Prêmio Prudential Espírito Comunitário is an initiative of Prudential do Brasil Seguros de Vida that awards young students for their volunteer projects in their communities. The award is the Brazilian version of the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, created in the United States, where more than 120,000 young people have been awarded at the local, state and national levels since 1995.
The main goal of PPEC is to recognize young people who carry out volunteer projects with the potential to generate social transformation in their communities. For the national award, students must register their projects to be judged by a panel of experts who will then select 30 finalists to compete. After this first round, those 30 projects will be evaluated on different aspects and, at the official award ceremony, 3 finalists will be chosen to receive cash prizes to be invested in their projects, and the first two finalists will travel to the US in order to compete at the International Prudential Awards.
