The Hip Hop International Championships NZ Nationals are held by Street Dance New Zealand (SDNZ) and brings together passionate Hip Hop dancers from all over the country. Competitors captivate large crowds as they dance for the chance to enter the Hip Hop International Championships.

Dancers also receive television and media exposure, and the chance to win prestigious national and world championship titles. Dancers compete in Novice and Masters Divisions at the regional level.

The event encourages dancers to showcase the artistry and technique of Hip Hop dance; winning routines typically feature a variety of street dance styles, showmanship, original signature moves, engaging music, and complete body dance choreography.

Judging criteria typically includes execution & synchronisation, difficulty & technique, creativity, and showmanship & crowd appeal.
