ONU Jr. is a Model United Nations conference hosted by university students that seeks to expose students to the process of diplomacy and international politics. High schools students participate in a four day simulation where they replicate processes of formal and informal negotiation that takes place in the most important international organizations.
Participants will broaden their global perspective, learning in practice, the importance of respecting diversity and being tolerant. Further, the model contributes to developing their understanding of how politics are carried out and how systems of international relations work. Given these objectives, ONU Jr. strives to provide the most realistic UN simulation possible, allowing students to discuss relevant international topics and develop their critical thinking.
