Clubes de Ciência (CdeC) is an organization that aims to promote and develop an interest in science among young people through free workshops and mentoring offered by researchers from the best universities in the world. Selected students participate in workshops focused on different themes.

During the 2017 edition in Brazil, students chose between workshops on Stem Cells and Genome Editing, Combating Epidemics, Innovation and Scientific Entrepreneurship, and the Immune System.

CdeC was founded in 2014 by Mexican doctoral candidates at Harvard and MIT with the goal of exapnding access to high-quality scientifiec instruction. The project expanded to Columba, Bolica, Brazil, Paraguay and Peru and since it's inception, has impacted moer than 4.500 students.

Approximately 80 spots for students from around Brazil.

Participation Cost


Free to participate, although students from outside of Belo Horizonte who wish to participate will have to pay for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

Minimum Technical Skill Needed


Students must display a passion for innovative scientific ideas, creativity and curiosity in order to be selected.

Time Commitment


One week event held in July of each year.
