The Mostra Brasileira de Foguetes (MOBFOG) is an experimental Olympiad held annually by the Brazilian Astronomical Society (SAB) where high school students build rockets - using materials such as straws, paper, and plastic bottles - and launch them as far as possible from launch pads. Rockets and launch pads can be built individually or in teams of up to three students. Students compete within their own schools and can earn medals based on the distance that their rocket travels.
Students who are able to launch their rockets more than 100 meters will be invited to participate in the Jornada de Foguetes, a special event held in Rio de Janeiro, to engage with other teams and deepen their knowledge of rockets.
