The Olimpíada de Língua Portuguesa Escrevendo o Futuro is an essay contest for public school students from 5th grade to High School with the mission of promoting improvements in how literature and writing are taught in Brazilian schools.
The contest focuses around the theme "the place where I live" with the goal of encouraging students to create stronger ties and deepen their knowledge and understanding of their local context, contributing to the development of a greater sense of citizenship. Students can submit texts in four categories according to their age group: poem, short story, opinion articles and memoir.
The 7th edition will take place in 2021.
