Competition Skill Building

The Who Loves Who Competition is run by Play It Strange NZ, and is a unique chance for Year 9 to 13 students to be inspired by New Zealand songs and record their own original interpretation. First Place receives a day's recording session at a professional studio of their choice, and all Finalists will have their tracks mastered by Chris Chetland of Kog Studio to be released on a Who Loves Who Competition album. The 2018 Winner Yedda Zhang (Baradene College; Auckland) recorded an imaginative interpretation of Lorde's 'Royals' on her laptop and is features on the annual album.

Who Loves Who is supported by Recorded Music NZ and engages young people with Kiwi music and the opportunity to work with the New Zealand music industry in a professional environment.
