The Secondary Schools Composition Competition is held by the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra (APO) as part of the Inspire Partnership Programme. This is an exciting opportunity for young composers to showcase their work and develop their skills. Winners in 2018 participated in the Our Voice Orchestral Workshop where their piece was performed by a live orchestra and they had the opportunity to work with APO's Communities Composer. This is a prized opportunity for secondary school students to receive exposure to the professional musical world and develop their talent beyond school.

Composition details are yet to be announced for 2019.
