The Gregory O'Donoghue International Poetry Competition is open to poets of any age and provides a platform for expression on any subject in any style. Original, unpublished work in the English language can be submitted by writers of any nationality, living anywhere in the world to be judged anonymously for prizes and publication in the Southword Journal. First Prize, in addition to a 1,000 Euro cash award, also includes a week's residency at the Tyrone Guthrie Centre and paid travel expenses and 4 nights accommodation in Cork city during the Cork International Poetry Festival.
This a poetry competition with a wide scope and a large volume of entries in which passionate poets can enjoy exposure to an international platform.
Entries for 2020 are currently closed - but entries for 2021 will open in November 2020.
