Calling anyone interested in helping underprivileged children and looking for quantifiable achievements on their college application!
I'm organizing a book drive to combat the literacy gap and bring kids the treasures of books. Whereas in middle-income neighborhoods the ratio of books per child is 13 to 1, in low-income neighborhoods, the ratio is 1 age-appropriate book for every 300 children. Books are crucial to childhood development, yet so many kids lack access to books and as a result, they severely lag behind their privileged counterparts.
My book drive comprises of two kinds of donations: physical book donations and monetary donations. I'm collecting monetary donations through a Go Fund Me page (click here to check it out) and am setting up drop off locations for book donations. Though some people have mailed books to me, most of my donations have come from the Go Fund Me.
I have a big goal in mind, and I want to build a team of volunteers who can strategically help me expand my reach and help as many kids as possible. Specifically, I'm looking for people who can help me promote on social media, share ideas on how we can reach more people and fundraise more efficiently, and overall amplify the book drive's impact!
I'm also looking for campaign managers who can help me guide the course of the campaign and increase engagement and impact. This can potentially enhance applications as it is a great opportunity to quantify your achievements.
