PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a nonprofit and NGO operating in the Kabarole district, Rwenzori region, Uganda. We advocate for the protection of children, youth, and women’s rights through the provision of prevention and multi-disciplinary intervention in investigation and information dissemination to have a healthy, violence-free society.
PLANE aims to undertake collective action for promoting general health and reproductive health awareness campaigns on family planning, HIV/AIDS, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR), education for children, and access to social and health services, among others.
PLANE was founded in 2010 and is on record with the Uganda National NGO Board (No. 10895). The organization has developed potential capacity and recognition in enhancing health promotion programs, advocacy for the protection of children’s rights, youth, and teenage mothers empowerment by caring for and improving the lives of vulnerable children.
Digital Marketing Manager
Brainstorming: The volunteers can think of or redesign promotional campaigns and strategies for the organization (promos, posters, videos, etc)
The volunteers will do outreach campaigns for promotion on email, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram based on the organization's needs and target audience.
Research: The volunteers will research the organization's targets for key marketing metrics and activity ratios such as average response time, number of calls and email touchpoints, number of follow-up control.
The intern can compare data from the CRM to these targets and suggest areas to focus on.
Performance Marketing: The volunteers will use Google analytics to identify frequently visited pages. Suggest content updates that can improve metrics such as bounce rates and time on page.

TASKS &PROJECT IDEAS:
Marketing Strategy: The volunteers will create a market strategy plan, identifying the best strategic social platforms the organization should focus its efforts on. The volunteers look at the target audience, follow base and use various metrics to create the strategic plan. The volunteers find and prepare content for social media distribution. Using the organization’s social media strategy and infrastructure to find posts, articles, videos, audios, etc. She/he will draft the organization copy and schedule it for distribution to partners, friends, supporters, etc.
Social Media Campaigns: The volunteers will create social media plan including multiple campaigns for the next four months using research on the organization's audience and grant charts. The campaigns could be feedback from customers, blog posts, free samples of our services to increase audience.
The volunteers will also participate in the increase of the number of followers, likes, engagement, and the content would be more consistent and standardized.
Consumer Experience; The volunteers can walk through the main user flows of the organization's website and notice where there is confusion. The volunteers will map the steps involved so that our team can have a review. The volunteers will give feedback on the new tools and services as well as subsequently logging bugs.
