PLATFORM for the NEEDY (PLANE) is a nonprofit and NGO operating in the Kabarole district, Rwenzori region, Uganda. We advocate for the protection of children, youth, and women’s rights through the provision of prevention and multi-disciplinary intervention in investigation and information dissemination to have a healthy, violence-free society.
PLANE aims to undertake collective action for promoting general health and reproductive health awareness campaigns on family planning, HIV/AIDS, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), sexual reproductive health rights (SRHR), education for children, and access to social and health services, among others.
PLANE was founded in 2010 and is on record with the Uganda National NGO Board (No. 10895). The organization has developed potential capacity and recognition in enhancing health promotion programs, advocacy for the protection of children’s rights, youth, and teenage mothers empowerment by caring for and improving the lives of vulnerable children.
Business Development &Outreach: The volunteers will be required to create a sales plan, business plan, training of trainers and mentorship, sharing of the templates, organize research to better understand the needs and interests of the target audience.
The volunteers will conduct surveys/ focus groups, increase the outreach using emails, LinkedIn, etc, and then create a report and chart on the outcome.
Data Visualization: The volunteers will be required to create a data visualization project categorizing and mapping key competitors, trends, etc within the organization.
The volunteers will ensure they produce both a data set/report and a way to visualize it.
Product Expansion: The volunteers will create a product expansion project identifying a new product or service the organization would offer to benefit its audience or an upgrade/ expansion of an existing product/service, and then pitch to the team.

How will you help us?
Branding: Many startups/organizations are operating without clear communications and brand guides for consistency. The volunteers will research what makes strong communications guidelines and then create one for use at the organization.
SWOT analysis: The volunteers will complete a SWOT analysis of the organization's business model, identifying strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and the threats the company is likely to face.
Business Development: The volunteers will be required to watch a few videos regarding startup funding (let them understand the difference between pre-seed, seed, series, etc.) and use crunch base to identify potential investors based on previous entries/exits.
The volunteers will identify a list of potential leads and create an outreach and pitch strategy
Proposal writing; The volunteers will design projects that target the organization's audience and suggest potential partners and funders and then pitch and follow us to a conclusion.
Fundraising: the volunteers shall also be required to lead fundraising efforts aimed at building resource envelope for entrepreneurship projects
