The Global Blockchain Olympics recognizes young students' ideas for blockchain uses in our world. 

Competitors use blockchain to create an idea that aims to solve a problem in their industry of choice. 

Competitors into NFTs may compete in the Global NFT Olympics in the 2022 quarter!

All ideas are provided equal consideration regardless of the topic chosen. We are not concerned with the nature of the topic; rather, we are concerned with the creativity, impact, and passion behind the idea.

Minimum Technical Skill Needed

No concrete skill or qualification is needed. Rather, we look for passion for a particular field with a desire to use blockchain to solve a problem within that field.

Time Commitment

All students must do is submit their idea. This all depends on the student; however, we would recommend spending around 5-10 hours writing up their idea once it is sought of. 

Application Process Includes

First, make sure that the competition is open for submissions by checking the competition dates on our homepage.

Then you will fill out the Google submission form with some personal details, we ask that you include these so that we know who to contact if we believe that your idea is worthy of recognition. We ask for your high school details so that we can include your high school name on your award certificate.

You will then respond to our essay prompts regarding your area of interest:

1) “BLOCKCHAIN IDEA TOPIC: PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE INDUSTRY THAT YOUR BLOCKCHAIN IDEA IS FOR.” (750 CHARACTER LIMIT)

2) “BLOCKCHAIN HAS USES IN ALMOST ANY INDUSTRY. TELL US WHY YOUR INDUSTRY IS MEANINGFUL TO YOU AND WHAT ISSUES YOU HOPE TO SOLVE USING YOUR IDEA.” (1500 CHARACTER LIMIT)

Finally, you will submit your idea. You are allowed to upload one PDF document to the submission portal.

1) Make sure that the competition is open for submissions by checking the competition dates on our homepage.

2) Fill out the Google submission form:

  • Please remember that you are only allowed to complete of you have, as of the date of competition quarter deadline, not yet enrolled in either a 4-year university or a 2-year community college.

3) Respond to our essay prompts regarding your area of interest:

  1. “BLOCKCHAIN IDEA TOPIC: PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE INDUSTRY THAT YOUR BLOCKCHAIN IDEA IS FOR.” (750 CHARACTER LIMIT)

  2. Write up your idea on one or two pages. You are allowed to upload one PDF document to the submission portal.

    Your document should include the following:

    1. A background into what problem you are trying to address in your industry.

    2. Go freestyle! Write out your project to best describe how it would operate, why blockchain is the best solution, and what you would need in order for your idea to come to fruition (funding, government support, etc). You may also wind up writing a computer program to demonstrate your idea (in that case, include a white paper at the end of the document).

    3. Citations, additional information, white paper: use this space to attach references for data, statements, images, etc. Please use the Harvard referencing style. Please include any additional information that may help us better understand your circumstances, e.g. if you do not have access to a computer at home, if you have received help in submitting your entry, or past projects that you have completed that may be relevant to your submission. Include a white paper if you have already commenced working on your project.

After you have submitted your idea, you will receive your award decision exactly one month after the deadline date of the competition quarter.
