As well as providing a platform for students to learn language vocabulary through reading, writing, dictation and listening throughout the year, Language Perfect also runs an annual championship.
The Language Perfect World Championship is a 10 day online competition held in May each year. Students have a unique account which tracks their progress as they learn vocabulary from any of the official languages. Students can earn points by correctly translating between their target language and English (or other native language). Points earned enable students to earn certificates and qualify for awards and prizes.
The competition is relevant for everyone. This is not just for the highest performing students, it's an exciting event that engages students from a wide spectrum of learning abilities. Due to the nature of the competition, perseverance and interest are valued just as much if not more than ability.
Students login as many times as they like over the 10-day event. A time limit of 8 hours per 24 hour period applies (calculated from the start of the competition, and resetting every 24 hours after that). Students do not need to be supervised by a teacher while they compete, and may compete either from a computer or using the apps for iPad/iPhone/Android devices
Languages in the competition include: Arabic, Greek, Russian, Chinese, Italian, Malay, French, Japanese, Maori, German, Indonesian, and Spanish.
It is also possible to access similar Education Perfect championships in subjects such as Science, English, Social Science and Maths.
