Algebra II allows students to build on the concepts learned in both MTH007 and MTH006. Here, students will learn all about imaginary and complex numbers, systems of inequalities and will also explore logarithmic functions. Students review and expand on knowledge of trigonometric functions to understand how to solve trigonometric expressions as well as how to interpret graphs of inverse trigonometric functions. They will explore topics such as polynomial functions as well, including the rational root theorem and the fundamental theorem of algebra. The course also looks at rational expressions and functions. Finally, students also study probability distributions and take an in-depth look at the world of probability and statistics and how it can be represented with algebra (such as how to show normal distributions using equations) As a course director, you are responsible for the creation and maintenance of a self-paced and live class. To begin with, you work in creating lesson content which can include a mix of text, images and videos as well as quizzes for each lesson. Each quiz can include both multiple choice and short answer / long answer questions. You will create quizzes in Google forms. Each course contains approximately 90 lessons. Once you have created your course content, you will be responsible for overseeing instructors who are grading student work and instructing classes. Additionally, you will maintain your content by regularly looking at analytical data of student results to look for possible areas of confusion and then correct these!
The time commitment is: Course Director: Create 2-3 lessons per week, approx. 2hrs-3hrs per week
