The National History Bee & Bowl is a nationwide buzzer based history competition. The Bee is for individual students and the Bowl is for teams (though single-player teams are allowed). The competition is a division of the International Academic Competitions, which organises events in over 30 countries around the world, including the biennial International History Olympiad, which students can qualify for through participation in NHBB events.
National History Bee Middle School and Elementary School Divisions comprise of four stages. Middle School History Bowl takes place in 21 tournament sites across the US, with Varsity and Junior Varsity Divisions. Students are engaged in a battle about History, testing their knowledge in a stimulating fast-paced format. Students are encouraged to actively learn and develop a greater awareness of the social sciences.
Anyone can participate. Top students may progress to National Championships.

Create an International Academic Competition Sponsors Profile at https://www.iacompetitions.com/sponsors/new-sponsor-registration/ to complete the initial registration. Updates are sent over the course of the year with optional materials for intramural History Bee.
Register for Online Regional Qualifying Exam (ORQE) beginning on November 1, register for Regional finals in late January, and National Championships in mid-February.
