Community Activist for The Local Globe

  • The Local Globe
  • Remote ("Worldwide")

Description

The Local Globe is an organization dedicated to restoring interest in local news and civic engagement.

If starting initiatives is your jam, why not apply to become a Community Activist? Community Activists are tasked with perceiving issues in their community and acting on them. You'll have the opportunity to engage in various modes of activism, from petitioning to carrying out fundraising events to educating young people about the causes TLG campaigns for.

You’ll have the opportunity to utilize TLG's international network by collaborating with other Community Activists living across the globe: If you each recognize common issues in your communities, you can coordinate initiatives so that they go towards the same cause!

Responsibilities:

- Carry out 1-2 activism projects per month (depending on their scope)

- Provide 2-3 photos of each activism project in action.

- Write a 250-300 word summary of what, specifically, was carried out during the project, who was involved, where it took place, and what your impact was.

- Work with the Executive Director to provide regular updates on your projects

If the idea of working on an internationally-reaching team of students to initiate change in your community is intriguing, this role is for you!
