Math League is the largest network of math competitions for elementary, middle, and high school students in the United States, Canada, and other countries. It engages students in worthwhile math problems to challenge their mathematical skills and problem-solving abilities.
Three contest formats are run for Grades 4-5, Grades 6-8, and Grades 9-12. Students solve problems in 30 minutes using only plain paper, pencil or pen, and a calculator without QWERTY keyboard. Each contest covers topics appropriate to the contest grade level and questions cover a variety of difficulty ranges and are of interest to above-average students.
The key philosophy behind Math League is to stimulate students to enjoy a challenge and to be stimulated from problem-solving discussions. Many youngsters find the experience encouraging and are also prompted to enjoy their math puzzle books.
