Lions Clubs NZ Young Speechmaker Contest

The Lions Clubs of New Zealand offer youth 17-20 years of age the opportunity to participate in a public speaking competition. Youth will be required to deliver a prepared speech of not less than five minutes nor more than six minutes. The topic is at the discretion of the contestant. An additional impromptu speech of not more than two minutes on a topic determined by the judges will also be delivered by each contestant.

Entry is free for all contestants and Club, District and National competitions are all open to the public. The District competitions must be completed by 15 June 2020 and the National Final will be held in Wellington on Saturday, August 15th 2020.

This is a great opportunity for students who want to put their public speaking skills to the test in a competitive setting.
