The International Olympiad is one of five international science olympiads that aims to stimulate interests in informatics (computer science) and information technology by hosting one of the most prestigious computer science competitions in the world.
Each year, secondary school students compete in national computer science competitions to earn a spot on their respective national team of four students. National teams then travel to the host country in August to compete in the two-day competition that has students solving complex computer science and algorithmic problems.
Competing in this competition will give students international recognition of their academic excellence in computer science and information technology.
Students should find their country's National Olympiad competitions and learn how to get started.
