Description

ImmerseUK is aimed to help immigrants to gain a foothold in British society. I am aiming to make an operating website with articles covering important areas of British life, namely banking/finance, housing, phone/internet, and citizenship. The website will contain multiple languages, at this stage includes

1/ Chinese

2/ Bengali

3/ Punjabi

4/ Polish

5/ French

6/ German

Recruitment:

Volunteer needed for translation, if you are fluent in a second language apart from English and looking for a difference, you might be interested in translating articles for us

Reward:

There is no competition. Everybody with relevant language expertise is welcome to join.

Minimum Technical Skill Needed

You must be fluent in your application languages. The expertise should be C2 or equivalent. You have to prove your language proficiency in immigrant issues in the application process.

Time Commitment

The time commitment is depending on your availability to translate articles. You should expect around 1 hour per week.

Step 1: Email to khoa.tran@nyu.edu (Khoa) and tp2109@outlook.com (Tianyi Pu) for the application. In the email, please specify:

1. Your language proficiency.

2. Your availability to join the project (hours/week).

3. Your motivation to join the project.

Step 2: Mock translate a short article on immigration topics from English to your preferred language.
