Atlab - Mobile App Making Competition

In this competition, students will create their own Android/iOS applications while learning the fundamentals of computer programming.

This competition is perfect for children who dream of creating their own apps and sharing them with friends or publishing them.

The theme for the competition is “Well Being”. Students need to build an app that focuses on Emotional, Physical and Social well being.

Through 3 online interactive sessions, students will learn and create an array of apps. Finally students create their own app and compete in the competition.

By the end of the competition, the top 3 app developers will be awarded prizes and showcased on Atlab social platforms


The theme for the competition is " Well Being". Students need to identify an real life problem that focuses on Physical, Emotional and Social well being and build an app to solve that problem.

Technical Guidelines:

  • Any apps connecting to Wellbeing - Students can choose to develop any app as long as it adheres to the competition theme (Well Being).
  • Use MIT App Inventor/Thunkable online platform only - The App should be developed using MIT App Inventor/Thunkable online platform only.
  • Fully functional - The App should be fully functional and bug-free
  • Only the following formats and submissions allowed: Submit your app in .apk format

Application Process Includes

  • Prepare a Pitch: Shortlisted 20 participants should prepare a pitch to present it in front of a jury on the day of the pitch.
  • 5 mins Pitch & 5 mins Q&A: Participants will get 5 mins to present the app followed by 5 mins Q & A. 
  • Online Presentation: All presentations will happen online with time slots for each participant.
  • Scoring Criteria: During the event, participants will be scored over 100 points according to the following criteria:
    • 10 points for project relevance to the theme
    • 20 points for the algorithm used
    • 10 points for marketing plan
    • 20 points for the app UI-UX
    • 20 points for the presentation
    • 20 points for the Judges Q & A
  • Announcement of WinnerTop 3 winners will be announced based on the Pitch Day presentation. All participants will receive participation certificates.
