The Mastaplex system is a new way of testing milk for mastitis by using a test called Mastatest. With easy to follow steps, the Mastatest has been developed to allow farmers and those alike to be able to test for mastitis on their farm, themselves.

Developed by students at the University of Otago, the Mastatest uses a cloud-based system to record and analyse the results of the milk. Concluding the testing period, an email containing the report will be sent to the tester.

Students given the opportunity to work with Mastaplex will be introduced to the world of farming, the scientific developments being developed along the way and will develop a broad range of skills along the way.
