São Paulo Model United Nations (SPMUN) is the largest United Nations Model in the state of São Paulo and the third largest in Brazil. SPMUN was also one of the first Brazilian models to adopt the official regulations of the United Nations, the UN4MUN model, with the purpose of providing a conference that is increasingly similar to the real operation of the UN, and to offer participants the best possible experience. During the conference, participants will act out meetings of international organizations and represent countries in debates, where they defend their nation’s interests. In the end, participants are expected to have drafted a resolution describing how to best resolve the committee’s proposed issue. Students perform well at the event will be awarded Honorable Mentions and Oral Mentions.
