As a Netherlands-based European organisation, TEIMUN offers workshops, Model United Nations (MUN) simulations and plenty of opportunity for networking with other cultures. Workshops within the MUN society are based around MUN skills as public speaking, writing resolutions and debating that are of high value in any future career. During the workshops participants will be trained in these areas and in the end will participate in a MUN to show their new skills. TEIMUN is particularly aimed at students, and through the use of workshops, they hope to make the MUN world accessible for everyone.
TEIMUN has been organising MUN conferences in the Netherlands since 1987, making them the oldest MUN of continental Europe. Their simulations provide discussions on global affairs with other students in several councils as the General Assembly, North Atlantic Council, Security Council, G20 and Human Rights Council, and therefore provide a great insight into real-world politics and the functioning of different political bodies.
As well as debating and learning new skills, TEIMUN is also about meeting people from all over the world and getting in touch with different cultures. Social events such as the Global Village and the Beach BBQ provide opportunities to relax and form important connections after intensive debating. It is this combination of MUN sessions and socials makes TEIMUN unique and an unforgettable experience for all involved.
