The World Robot Olympiad competition predominately utilizes LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education manufactured by LEGO Education.
The choice of platform is decided by the WRO Advisory Council and the single platform policy is favoured as it provides students with equal opportunities, fair competition and global availability of products.
A number of competition categories require additional equipment. WRO GEN II Football requires sensors and a ball manufactured by HiTechnic.
Participating teams in the regular category also have the option to use a colour sensor also manufactured by HiTechnic.
