This prize is awarded for outstanding research in technical chemistry, process engineering, biotechnology and chemical apparatus. In doing so, special consideration will be given to the work of younger scientists, at the early stage of their careers who, for example, do not yet have a permanent professorship or a corresponding position in industry or research institutions. Originality as well as scientific and technical progress are considered important aspects of the assessment. The work should preferably have been carried out at European university institutes, scientific research institutes or in industrial activity.
The prize (from 2018) has included a grant of 20,000 euros. This is a highly prestigious award that offers a fantastic opportunity to enhance your skill sets and future applications.

The work submitted for this competition involves several years worth of conducted research.
Candidate proposals can be made by a university teacher or supervisor, however self-applications are also possible. These applications must include a cover letter. CV and an up-to-date publication list.
