Description

The UCD High School Summer Program is a 10 day enrichment program ideal for students who are seriously considering attending university in Ireland.  This program will introduce students to UCD’s campus culture and prepare them for the exciting and rewarding experience of studying in Ireland on a more long-term basis.  In addition to highlighting UCD’s degree options and campus amenities, the program will also acquaint students with the vibrant capital city of Dublin and Ireland’s rich cultural heritage through a variety of field trips and activities.

  • Faculty-led immersion days in the UCD Colleges of Business, Science, Engineering & Architecture, Social Science & Law, Arts & Humanities and more.

  • Application workshop led by UCD North America admission counselors.

  • Opportunities to meet one-on-one with UCD degree program representatives to discuss specific courses of study.

  • Introduction to UCD’s student supports, clubs and societies.

  • Accommodation in UCD’s on-campus student residences.

Daily field trips in and around Dublin to engage with and learn about Irish history and culture.

Minimum Technical Skill Needed

To be eligible for admission to the UCD High School Summer Program, students must be resident in North America and aged 16 or 17 during the program dates.  Students must also submit the following:

  • Report card or transcript showing a cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above (unweighted)

  • Counselor/teacher recommendation

  • Essay detailing interest in studying in Ireland/UCD

Please note that applications from students entering Grade 12 in 2019 will be given priority.  Applications from students entering Grade 11 are welcome, but may require additional information or recommendations
