World Robot Olympiad (WRO) Korea

This is a scientific competition that aims to give as many young people all the opportunity to develop their creativity and problem solving skills in a fun and engaging way. It is also designed to identify young talents and promote debates and new discoveries regarding the process of learning in Korea. Each season they have a new theme and we have challenges that are tailored to the age of the participants. This year the WRO theme is SMART Cities!

The competition consists of 4 different categories, Regular, College, Open and Soccer, and for the Regular and Open categories, it consists of three different age groups: Elementary, Junior High and Senior High.

Please note that due to Covid-19 restrictions, the 2020 event has been cancelled.

Elementary school students(or as low as to 6,7 yr old) to high school students



For each school, students from 7 to 19 year olds are divided into three age category to form teams of 2-3 members. Each team has to complete a certain project by planning, creating, and programming a robot to solve the problem.

Application fee: 50,000 WON

Minimum Technical Skill Needed


Students should be able to work with basic lego blocks, as well as advanced hardward and software programs(depending on age division).
