The Hague International Model United Nations (THIMUN) started small, as a local MUN conference in The Hague in 1968. Nearly half a century later, THIMUN has become a global leader in the MUN community, with four yearly MUN conferences as well as other regular MUN-related events throughout the world. THIMUN also provides crucial support for countless other MUN conferences throughout the world. The original conference in The Hague is a five-day simulation of the United Nations for secondary school students, which takes place at the end of January each year in the World Forum Convention Center in The Hague. Since then, THIMUN has branched out and become more accessible to young people worldwide. Now, THIMUN organises four events annually: five-day conferences in The Hague, Singapore and Qatar, as well as the one-day MiniMUN, also in The Hague.
